Course overview

The IPAF MEWPs for Managers course is designed to provide delegates with a greater understanding of the safe use of access platforms on site.

Developed in conjunction with major contractors, the course covers topics including the correct selection of platforms, regulations associated with work at height, emergency procedures, equipment maintenance and pre-use checks.

Practical demonstrations are also included if machines are available.

Key learning objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
• Understand the importance of pre-use checks and of the daily maintenance carried out prior to commencing work
• Understand the regulations relevant to MEWP usage
• Use the correct emergency procedures, capacities and limitations to enable safe operation
• Correctly select MEWPs
• Correctly select fall protection equipment

Anyone who supervises or plans working at height. The course consists of classroom based tutorials, demonstrations, practical
and test.

The group was initially formed in 1968 and was known as the Luton and District Construction Training Group. However, to better reflect the geographical locations of the members, the name was changed in the 1980's to the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Construction Group. In 1991 the group became Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Construction Training Limited. In 2008 to better reflect our position in the market place our name changed to Construction Training (B&H) Ltd.
